The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra partners with the Taubman Museum of Art to present The Arts In Concert Family Series. RSO musicians, Roanoke Youth Symphony musicians, and others perform at Taubman Museum.

Admission...
is included at no additional charge with admission to the museum by Membership or with Gallery Admission ($10.50 for adults, $9.00 for seniors, $8.50 for students w/ID, $5.50 for children ages 4-12, Free for children 3 & under). [Contact Taubman Museum]

JANUARY 17, 2009
"Aesop's Fables" by Anthony Plog
Take a journey through life's little lessons set to music with French horn and piano. Join the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra's Principal hornist, and professor, Wally Easter for this fun, musical story time!

Kandinsky Trio's America
All aboard! The famed Kandinsky Trio, in partnership with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, present a journey through America's classical and folk music. Violinist Bendi, cellist Alan, and pianist Liz present a unique and welcoming blend of virtuosity and fun. Welcome aboard!

The Hall Trio
Come hear the members of this brothers and sister trio! Teenagers Jared, Rachel and Justin are all in harmony with this program for violin, harp and cello. It's an inspiring musical program where talent and teamwork all shine through.

A Maestro's Friends - Classical Meets Jazz
Music director David Stewart Wiley loses the bow tie and jams to Joplin, Gershwin, & more. He's joined by Roanoke Symphony Orchestra flutist Julee Hickcox, bassist John Smith, and percussionist Al Wojtera in this high-energy concert. Great for parents, too!

Island Music Trio
You can leave the sunscreen at home, but bring the kids! You will be transported to the Caribbean by the mellow, carefree sounds of steel drums and much more, including the "bamboo tamboo." It's a fun, learning experience.

The Wright Kids
With a bass, a violin, a mandolin, a guitar, and some singing, these siblings have no time for rivalry! Join these brothers and sister as they harmonize and showcase their musical abilities. Before too long, you'll be clapping along! The Wright Kids recently made it to the Top 10 on America's Got Talent!

Roanoke Youth Symphony Flute Ensemble
The sprightly flute never sounded as good as it does with these bright young musicians! The RYS Flute Ensemble performs a variety of selections that'll have you whistling along. The flutes are joined by their junior colleague, the piccolo.

Instrument Petting Zoo
Toot a flute, strum a string, drum a drum... do it all at the Instrument Petting Zoo! Musicians will assist every child with his or her instrument of choice, with plenty of woodwinds, strings, brass, & percussion.

Here's a real toe-tapper with traditional Appalachian mountain music with a downtown twist. Come here the music of Blue Ridge Mountains performed by the RSO's friend Jeff Midkiff and his buddies.
